Solder of War
Here is an excerpt from a story I wrote for my Creative Writing class.
“I am a victim of battle, a solder of war. It’s either kill or be killed. Forget all the politics; forget who’s right and who’s wrong, because lets face it, we’re both fucking wrong! I kill because the only alternative is to be killed. Better them than me. It’s a natural human instinct. If I am to be sent to Hell for that, I welcome it with open arms, for I will be placed there amongst the rest of human society. That’s the god damn problem isn’t it? We were flawed from the beginning of creation. Whose fucking idea was it to plague the human race with selfishness? Better them than me. Ha! Find me one holocaust, one war, one death in the course of human history that can’t be placed solely on the shoulders of selfishness. Fear at being sent to Hell instead of Heaven? Christ open your eyes and feast upon Hell itself baby, we’re living in it!”
The character in the story has a little pent-up anger. lol I shall say no more. =)
